Position: Construction Superintendent I-Brighton Homes
Reports to: Construction Manager

Position Location: St. George, UT
Overview: The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the craftsmanship of residential homes while delivering world-class products and customer service to our clients.
Major Responsibilities
Activities During Construction:
- Directs and works with trade partners on the job site, requiring quality work and timely performance in accordance with Brighton Homes’ construction quality standards.
- Manages the daily construction activities and Assistant Superintendents on the job site to ensure job is completed on schedule while maintaining site organization and cleanliness.
- Manages craftsmanship of home directing work in the field to ensure design intent to ensure homes are built according to plans and specifications.
- Communicates field issues to design team when necessary, facilitating coordination of issue resolution for site conditions.
- Maintain good working relationships with trade partners and vendors; evaluate trade partner performance and recommend changes to trade partner pool.
- Check the construction site regularly throughout construction to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Enforce OSHA safety regulations.
- Track and inventory construction materials, arrange for returns, and take all necessary action to minimize waste.
- Performs multi-point inspections of homes during construction and prior to new home orientation.
- Reviews and responds to homeowner inspection reports.
- Manages approval/clarification of invoices as required. Coordinates and issues VPO’s.
- May assist with warranty issues in the field as necessary.
Supervision and Training:
- Trains, manages day-to-day tasks and mentors assistant superintendents and construction assistants and communicates performance to Construction Manager.
Inventory Home Maintenance:
- Manages weekly inspection and maintenance of all inventory homes.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- College degree in construction management and/or five years experience as a construction superintendent or similar experience.
- Continuing education and training in construction superintendent related courses, including OSHA training.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires the ability to interface with customers, vendors and subcontractors.
- Ability to solve problems and multi-task.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and selected construction management/scheduling software programs.
- Display an exemplary work ethic and provide model behavior and guidance to other staff through motivation, instruction and increased knowledge.
- Contribute toward a team approach within all areas of management while working toward the success of the company as a whole.
- Maintain a professional image in dress and grooming.
- Regular travel to client locations, field sites, or regional offices is required; therefore, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are essential.
Physical Demands
- May be required to perform occasional heavy work exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
