Overview: The IT Manager role is both strategic and operational, responsible for leading and managing the company’s technology environment. This position combines leadership oversight with active, hands-on technical execution. The IT Manager establishes IT strategy, manages technology risk, and ensures alignment with business objectives, while directly performing advanced technical work including infrastructure management, systems architecture, cybersecurity oversight, network configuration, and resolution of complex technical issues. Success in this role requires the ability to balance high-level planning with day-to-day technical engagement to ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable in support of organizational growth.
Key Management Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organization’s IT strategy aligned with business objectives while identifying technology opportunities that drive operational efficiency and business growth.
- Establish and enforce IT policies and standards.
- Create and manage IT budgets, forecasts, and capital planning.
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management related to IT systems.
Team Leadership and Development
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate IT staff.
- Establish performance expectations and execute professional development plans.
- Promote accountability, technical excellence, and service-oriented culture.
- Allocate resources and prioritize projects across the IT function.
Technical Architecture & Systems Oversight
- Design and maintain enterprise infrastructure architecture (cloud, on-premises, hybrid).
- Oversee network architecture, security frameworks, and system integrations.
- Lead cybersecurity strategies including monitoring, incident response, and risk mitigation.
- Serve as the highest-level escalation point for technical issues.
- Approve and implement system upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years of experience in an enterprise-scale IT operations environment or equivalent.
- 5+ years administering Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022/2025).
- 5+ years managing virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix).
- 5+ years managing multi-VLAN, L2/L3 switching environments.
- 3+ years managing Palo Alto firewalls and Global Protect configuration.
- 3+ years administering Microsoft 365 (Office 365), Exchange 2019, Azure AD, Azure AD synchronization, Intune, and Microsoft Teams.
- 3+ Years managing Microsoft 365 (Office 365) Defender and SPAM filtering
- 2+ years’ experience managing a Microsoft 2-Tier PKI infrastructure
- 2+ years of Apple/MacOS support experience.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP, VPN, LDAP, IIS, WSUS, IPv4/IPv6.
- Experience administering Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Knowledge of patch management platforms (Automox, WSUS, Action1, etc.).
- Experience with vulnerability assessment and remediation tools.
- Knowledge of Ubiquiti wireless systems.
- Knowledge or experience with Barracuda email archiving solutions.
- Basic experience with Dell Storage Area Networks (SANs).
- Basic SQL Server installation, clustering, and Availability Groups experience.
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or similar.
- Knowledge/experience with Laserfiche document management system (preferred).
- Knowledge/experience with AI models such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Co-Pilot, etc.

Physical Demands
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (e.g., processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, etc.).
- May be required to perform physical labor such as lift\move 50-75 pounds. Occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
- May be required stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for a prolonged period.
Other Considerations
- This is a full-time, 100% on-site position located in Meridian, Idaho.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Some travel, less than 5%, may be required
